Several weeks ago, I made the following comment on this forum: "I couldn't care less about Transformers."
Last night, I found out that I was wrong, when I watched my brand new copy of Casino Royale, and found out that it was actually possible for me to care less about a movie than I do about Transformers. Don't get me wrong, the disc is technically wonderful - stunning picture quality, especially on the scenes when they're in the Bahamas. I just didn't get it as a movie. I don't see this guy as James Bond (Roger Moore or Pierce Brosnan for me, please), they spent too much time on poker and all of that "I love you" crap and not enough on action and the torture scene was just inhumane. I kept thinking "come on, this is James Bond - he still has like 1,000 girls to sleep with, there's no way this really happened to him." And where were all the cool James Bond gadgets? A microchip in his arm, a portable defibrillator and some blatant Sony product placement is the best they can come up with?
Someone please tell me if I'm missing something here, but I really did not care for this movie... of course, part of that could have been that I only half paid attention to the first half because I was on the Christmas party chat...
