I'm looking for guidance. I'm hoping to make the right desiccation. My DG 380 is finally dead or not. The question is can it be fixed? I took it all apart this morning including all the gears out of the motor. I pushed the west directional button and the main gear did spin some meaning half of turn. After that I performed a master reset the center gear was spinning like crazy. I thought I had fixed the problem. 10 seconds later..... back to the half turn. There are few other thing that I have notice like the motor didn't move right way after selecting a sat. Sometime the transponder signal took awhile to come on.

I looked on Sadoun's website and there is a replacement part for the IC board. I'm taking a wild guess that the IC board is the problem but before I spend more money I would like to know what you guys think.

Thanks!

How long did you run this motor, and what size/type dish was is driving? Just curious-I don't have a clue what the problem could be. My 380 has been running fine for alittle over 1yr now, and if anybody could wear a motor out, it would be me, searching for feeds lol. So far it hasn't caused me any problems.

Not quite a year turbosat. I have a 1.2 ku dish. I know that for the last couple of month it has been acting up quite a bit and today it stopped moving. It looks like I do not have enough juice to move the dish East or West. I'm getting power to the lnb but that is about it.

Too much weight involved for the motor, I wonder?
I think the 380 has a weight limit of around 30lbs, can't find the manual for it right now to see. I use a 90cm Channel master dish that is an old primestar, with the metal-mount removed. Seems like it came to around 21lbs with the metal brackets I made to hold it on the motor.

According to Sadoun the DG380 can handle up 37lbs. In all honesty it has. I have been running my dish for almost a year. So because it I'm looking into the IC board and possibly the gear motor.
