I think I know the answer but...

I pick up the 921 today from costco brought it home and attempted to hook it up. It failed.....and I think I know why....

I have a Dish 500 and Dish 300 legacy with sw21's. A 6000 and a 508. I unconnected my two recievers and plug their connection into the 921.


It did the switch check. Saw all three sats BUT it wont upgrade to the latest software.

I think it is one of two reason:
1. I still have legacy switches and LNBF
2. I did add the reciever to my account


I can get several channels though NASA, the dish info channel etc.



Am I correct in why it wont download the latest rev?

You need to turn it 'off' then it will do the initial down load. Thats the way my two worked, they would not do first downloads until off.

Actually when I recently installed my second 921, i had to go to the software UPDATE screen and tell it to download.
