The $10 off for 6 Months double deal is published, but I also asked about the rate increases from a few weeks ago and also got $2 off for a whole year (grand fathered pricing).

Just ask when you sign up. Or if you just signed up recently check your online statement at directtv.com and it should show on the right hand side as a discount for a year.

If not call and mentioned that the rates went up and ask.

Yea, I just activated also and noticed on my bill the $2.00 credit. Didn't even ask for it.
