I just finish Planting the pole for my 36' dish. I am a little confuse about true south. I know I have to align the polar mount aligning it to the true south. I am at Location: Latitude: 42.3411° Longitude: -88.1376° and my zipcode is 60073.

What is my true south and which one will be my true south sat.?
Any help will be greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance

I am at 88 west too, you are just north of me.
You can use either Sat at 87 or 89 west, you will be 1 degree off.
If using a compass, 183 south
Once you have either one of those, use USALS to drive to 74 west and pick or setup the ONN Transponder. Then, if necessary, tweak Motor Mount to best signal, return to 87 or 89 using USALS and check signal.

What is your exact setup, Receiver, LNB, and Motor?

Thanks for the reply.

CaptiveWorks 800s
DirectPC LNB FSS SAT2
DreamStar Dual LNBF 1189-DS
SG2100 Moteck
DTV36EDS Dish

My Antenna setting on 43.C AMC 3 (87W)
O Quality 74% Strength
Transponder 3810/V/14000/3/4
LNB Freq. 5150
LNB Type: Normal
22KHz: Auto
Legacy SW: off
Motorised System: off

Only connect to the "DirectPC LNB FSS SAT2"
This is your dish?

In the Receiver, look for a 2nd AMC3, marked for Ku.
Transponder numbers will be 5 digits.
Look for 11716 or 11745
Enter proper LNB info, if in doubt, look on the LNB itself, look for "L.O. xxxxx" should be 10750

LNB Freq. 10750
LNB Type: Normal
22KHz: Auto - select off if it's an option
Legacy SW: off
Motorised System: off - leave off for now

Dish skew should be set to 90, straight up and down
Bring the receiver and small TV to the Dish
I would not even connect to the Motor yet, connect from receiver to the LNB, no switches yet.

From Dishpointer.com
Motor Latitude 42.4 - your latitude, do not use "elevation" scale
Dish elevation: 23
Azimuth / Direction: 183 South using compass

Only connect to the "DirectPC LNB FSS SAT2"

hello FTA!

congrats on getting it set up. Lak is right, the transponder info may be outdated and can cause headaches when aiming :)
