Well folks this is pure speculation and there is no evidence to back this up.. but I'm putting two and two together....

now that the Olympics is over ch 9426 has gone off air but not dark... Normally a channel of this magnitude would just disappear.. but this is different.. so I'm making a crystal ball prediction out of my ass .. I think we will see a new hd channel pop up soon...

What channel might that be? I don't think any one except dish knows that for sure but contenders are MHD,NGHD,FOODHD, and StarzHD.

so now that I have homed in on my Super Duper Crystal Ball.... As I shake the 8 ball, Will there be a New HD channel Available to Subs Today?????

I dont think we will see anything today. While I HOPED Dish would put Universal HD and ESPN2HD on 110 I don't see them doing that yet as I have a feeling they will use that transponder to shuffle things around when Echostar X is in place.

With that said I will be the first to admit that I have been wrong before.

Lets see this year I think the only thing that I was wrong about (that I can remember) was Lifetime Real Women coming to Dish.

Everything else this year has been spot on accurate. (In fact as someone very high up at Dish Network recently told me that my information was TOO accurate)

They are sucking up a LOT of bandwidth with these. Just how much does Mpeg4 save vs. Mpeg2 anyway......

mpeg 4 = 4 vs mpeg 2 =3

They probably hope to eventually get 6 HD LILs/TP... Will be a year or 2 probably before the compression technology for real time MPEG-4 encoding gets that good.
