Ok so today I got this flyer and I want to try to understand why I would want to do one of these? Maybe someone could help me out.
This is what I have now
GoldHD with PlatinumHD, America's top 250, No DVR fee (because I have DVR advantage) , Locals, 1 Yr Cinemax for a Penny with Autopay Participation (84.79)
I have the VIP 622

Now my two offered options are based on a new 2yr commitment
1) Free HD DVR upgrade (Save 349.00) and 5.98 DVR fee applies.
Free HBO. Stars for 3 months (save 65)
Free Platimun HD for 3 months (save 30)

2) Free programming for 3 months (save 120.00)
Free HBO. Stars for 3 months (save 65)

Can someone help me figure this out over a two year period? Personally, I have a bad feeling that Dish is going through a tough time and who knows.

There is a thread in the pub about a Wall Street Journal article. Many providers are offering discounts and incentives to keep existing customers.

Dish looks like they are trying to lock existing customers in for a while.

Bottom line is if you're happy with Dish and don't mind the contract, you'll save some good money...
