somewhere south of nowhere
Well gang, after 13 years of being a 'legal' (paying grey market customer - not a hacker or pirate) DISH subscriber I finally shut down and sold all of my DISH gear.
I like NASCAR and football.
Got tired of waiting for SPEED and FUEL HD offerings and will likely never see SUNDAY TICKET so I packed 'er in.
I did love the gear and thought that the quality of available programming was excellent but just gotta have the other programming.....

Now I have to find a 'legal' way to subscribe to DirecTV here in Canada or take 'ugh' cable........

see ya 'round gang.... good luck on getting ur wishes granted

Not a fan of "I'm leaving Dish" posters, and your first two reasons to me are weak to give up everything else you like about Dish, because you have that programming just not in HD yet.

But not having Sunday Ticket, or MLB is a very legit reason. I happen not to care about Sunday Ticket, and get to see the Red Sox play virtually every game each year, don't care to see the other teams. But If I did really want those services I would have to seriously consider switching.

I really just find it obscene that the Canadian government feels the need to protect the native television providers so strongly that it makes outside competition 'illegal'.
If DISH and DirecTV were allowed to sell in Canada it would force those who are here to pick up their game.
DISH was allowed in Canada for a time..... under the banner DISH NETWORK CANADA which was purchased by Bell Telephone Canada and renamed ExpressVu (now BELL TV).
If the US DBS providers could sell in Canada with the mere requirement that they offer the very few Canadian channel offerings - would that not force the providers here to kick it up a notch? Add to that the fact that the Canadian programming would then be available to millions of US subscribers!
The US government does not legislate to keep Canadian sellers out of the US so why does the Canadian government do just that?
You CAN legally subscribe to BELL TV in Florida or anywhere else in the US.
Makes no sense to me.....

anyways - I'm ranting again...... sorry
ciao for now
