Well, I found a use for the spare Primestar and receiver. My wife wants it fed into her home office, so when she is working from 6p to midnight, she can watch RTN, FOX and WB/UPN's. So it is going to G10 and coax to her room :)

why don't you just put a high frequency splitter on the existing Primestar LNB and run a 2nd cable?

Here is how it is hooked up now: G10 is coming through to the house via a 22k switch, then a diseqc switch. Would I attach the splitter you are talking about aafter the diseqc switch? If I were to hook it up this way, then it would be like having a dual (2 output) lnb? If this were to work, this might be the way to go :) Thanks! :)

Just looking at Sadoun's site, if I am looking at the correct splitter, I could actually split any or all of my existing cables, then feed them into a diseqc switch that would then go to the Fortec/spare receiver?

Would this work: Can I put a splitter in between my main receiver and the diseqc switch? This was I would have deseqc -----------> splitter ---------> output a = main rcv out b = spare receiver

I am not sure I am typing what I mean, but basically I would split the signal coming in after it has gone through the diseqc, thus allowing me to have 2 receivers that would see and have control over all 4 lnbs? Just curious if this would work. Boy I hope I did not just confuse everyone :) THANKS!

Hook the splitter on the output of the LNB (between the LNB and any switches). One output goes to the switch and the other goes to the 2nd receiver

You'll only get V polarity but thats fine :D

splitter has to be rated up to 2150 MHZ

no that wont work because whatever the main receriver is on the 2nd is on the same.

if all you want is G10 do it this way

LNB-----splitter port 1--------switches-------------main receiver
----------splitter port 2--------------------------------2nd receiver

2nd reciever would only get G10....or get a 3x4 multiswitch and then both units would get G10 & IA7

OK, thanks! That won't work for me, since the 22k switch is out by the G10/IA7 dish. I am afraid to run anymore cable from out there, as I have several in the ground for my Dish Net, OTA, old cable line and fta. I think I will just set up the spare behind the house - I have plenty of room to run cables there :) I do like your idea though. Thanks for the advice! I need to print off all these ideas and tips, so someday when I need them, I can have easy access :)

Here are the 2 options

The one with the splitter would give the 2nd box just G10
The 2nd with the 3x4 would replace the 22k switch and both boxes cans see IA7 & G10 (but you do need an additional line

Gotcha! I am going to run a splitter and cable to the Fortec, or, if I can't bury it safely, I will just set up the Primestar in the back yard :)
