I'm a soon-to-be D* cust (July 12th install) after being w/ E* for 10 years. I'm wondering if those HD rooms can view programs currently being recorded by the main box or must you wait until the recording is complete?

As soon as a program begins recording, or within a second or two, it can be watched on another receiver with MRV. I do it quite often. Same with DirecTV to PC. I will often record a football game so I can immediately go watch it on my PC in the office while I do some work....

Just switched after 7 years myself, happy so far.

The way I am understanding the MRV capabilities is that once a show is recorded it will be viewable in any other room w/ a HD receiver. I'm wondering if those HD rooms can view programs currently being recorded by the main box or must you wait until the recording is complete?

You can start streaming while the recording or download (VoD) is still in progress.
