LOL, Just after i posted this i got an email saying the site will go off-line on 2/11/25. So you have today, tomorrow, and Monday to save 10%. Now we know.

I don't think people understand what it takes to runs these sites. My wife just did our taxes last night and this site lost $4,600 last year in costs. And then you have days like today with server issues which turn out of be hardware issues at the ISP that has you pulling your hair out and wanting to press the power button.

With that said I am doing all I can to keep us going. But with ad revenue almost non existent its getting harder and harder.

We talk about so much here now that has nothing to do with Satellite and I don't think a lot of people know this. I need to figure out a way to bring people in for things besides just satellite and also figure out a way to raise revenue, because I don't know how long the wife will continue to let me support the site I love.

You are 100% correct. The majority of folks will never even consider the $ costs not to mention the time to run websites these days. It is easy to think of the internet and everything on it as free once you pay for internet service. The time it takes is crazy. I used to own/run a couple FTA sites ( a forum and also a sat channel database). The time to run these were insurmountable before the end. I could not keep up with the constant changes to servers, php, hackers, etc.. And the costs? They generated 0 income. None. The only reason i had these was to point to the HyperMegasat store. Was it worth it? Probably not. But i loved it. Still miss those sites badly.

My point is, if this site is losing $4600 a year, for sure you will not be able to keep this up. If the wife doesn't pull the plug, you will eventually, even though you love it.

Folks, we need to figure out how to make this site pay at least pay for itself if we want to keep this site.
