The arm of the 1000.2 is put on with rivets, the 1000.4 arm bolts on from the bottom. He is having to do some "jerry rigging" if he is doing that. Are you using a DPH LNBF on that 1000.4?

I figured that was the case. And even IF, still not sure about the focal point with the shorter arm.
I had him install the 1002 based on Dish & what I see here. All I know for sure is, mine was the 1st time he'd used the 02 for the H3 install, he said he'd had no problems with the hybrid LNB on the 04's - go figure. I'm confident I made the right call.
This is probably a stupid question, but why is the new LNB called a "hybrid" LNB? Any quick and simple answer?

Weird thing happened Sunday... Signal kept going in and out on Sunday... Didnt think much about it until last night when I could hardly pull any kind of signal... Did a check switch and either 61.5 or 72 would work but not both at the same time... Checked the Hopper upstairs and it works just fine... Called dish and come to find out... When I moved on Jan 1 the tech installed the new lnb and solo hub... Not sure why he did it but didn't complain as I knew dish was coming out with something big... That was the day I posted on here about 16 tuners
So basically the solo hub is hooked up to my hopper upstairs and the one downstairs goes in and out but worked perfect for a little over a month when it shouldn't have

I was told at CES by an Engineer there that there will be a new switch called dp(dpp?)42 coming out to use with normal DP lnb dishes. IT will work with Hopper 3 and Hopper 2...
They will work fine. Up until you hook up a Hopper 3 to it, and then it switches into DP-Z mode which is not receivable by anything but the Hopper 3 (and upcoming Wally)
You should always ground the Dish system. I bought a galvanized 8ft ground rod and 25ft aluminum bare wiring and a ground clamp all for about $12. Drive rod down about half its length
put wire on grounding located at antenna and connect to ground rod.
Aluminum wire is what comes in the Dish installation box, and is used all over in homes.....it is electrical code unless you have a desert climate in which case you would add a cathartic

I did not know that. Haven't read the code in a while but I thought it says to use copper ground wire. What about the new ground rod? Do you bond it to the home's ground rod?
You should always ground to the main electrical ground of your house. You should never ground to a separate ground rod unless that rod is also bonded to your main house ground. If you use aluminum it has be a lot heavier gauge than copper.
