I don't believe the HWS can accommodate 4K. You'll need the H3.

Hopper 3 does not do 4K from YouTube as it does not support the VP9 codec.

Get another streaming device like a 4K Roku, Apple TV 4K, FireTv and stream your Youtube 4K from there. It’s as simple as changing the input on your TV.

Nope that’s a hardware thing. Not something that could be put in with a software update.
