Hulu Live TV and Fubo to Merge

Under the deal, Fubo and Hulu + Live TV will remain available to subscribers via their respective platforms, with Hulu + Live TV available on the Hulu app and remaining a part of the Hulu, Disney+ and ESPN+ bundle. Fubo will likewise retain its app.
So as explained in the quote above it seems like the two services will be merged into one service but it can be accessed though either the Hulu app or the Fubo app but they will be the same on both platforms.

Comcast and others need force ESPN / disney to allow them to take ESPN out of basic packages.
That will never happen, if Providers were to get rid of ESPN, they are risking an exodus from the services.

For example, during DirecTV’s dispute in the 3rd Quarter with Disney/ESPN, rumors are, about a million subscribers left

DirecTV had 10.1 million subscribers at the end of 2Q24, with the losses of the 3rd and 4th Quarters, they are now under 9 Million, close to 8 Million, partly because of losing ESPN.

Also cut down OTA fees to what venu is paying.
And how much is that?

I really believe you do not have answer to that question.

As someone who just retired from the industry, per sub fees from the Networks are not as high as you believe, there is a certain Provider, that is making a nifty profit on those fees.

so ESPN can have it's own stand alone thing? but cable co are forced to have ESPN + Disney channel in all basic plans? Even if you don't want ESPN but want other cable channels?

If ESPN can go standalone then they become like HBO on cable.

No one is forced, Live TV Providers can give up those channels once the contract is over.

But why it is not a good idea, was just proven during the DirecTV/Disney dispute.

During the 3rd Quarter, all Streaming Live TV Providers had subscribers gains, Sling, Hulu Live, Fubo and YTTV, a lot from those leaving DirecTV, because they did not wish to miss out on College/Pro Football.

Yes.

ESPN Streaming plans, are to go after those without Paid Live TV, which, by the end of 2025, will outnumber those with Paid Live TV, so it is a good business decision to offer services, to now 63 Million Households, while continuing to receive per sub fees from, currently, 68 Million Households.

Will that cause more to leave Paid Live TV, yes, how many, I have no idea.

Not offering it, would not stop cord cutting, that ship has sailed, Cable/Satellite lost 8 Million subs in 2023 (2 million were picked up by YTTV), so 6 Million left last year.

Expected to be largely the same in 2024, once 4th quarter numbers are released.

I hope you will pardon me for asking this very obvious off-topic question, but I am curious with regard to your somewhat "interesting" propensity and/or compunction to inappropriately capitalize words that should generally not be.

In this reply alone, you have incorrectly capitalized the words; live, quarter, providers, streaming, paid, million, households, and perhaps a few others that I missed with just a quick glance. Is there a particular reason that you do so?

Because I wrote all that while peddling on the LifeCycle, so incredibly hard to focus.

And why come into an area of the forum, where you never post, just to put me down for my how I write something, who cares.

Loving all the personal attacks lately..

Notwithstanding the fact that virtually all of your posts/replies are riddled with the same types of grammatical errors, how is asking a simple question akin to "putting anyone down" or a "personal attack?" I simply asked a question.

That said, given that you often tout both your experience and education, I expected better, but going forward, I will most definitely lower those expectations.

But why even ask such a question, except for the attempt to put me down.

Have you questioned any others that post on this site, for their grammatical or spelling errors.

Not a question.

And another personal swipe.

But if you really wish to know, yes, I have a MBA, that is a Master of Business Administration, definitely not a graduate degree in English.

Again, and to cut to the chase and simplify this a bit, why, as a self-professed "educated" and informed individual, do you continually and consistently do so?

Why are you attempting to single me out on this site, when I see many others making errors in their posts.

Again, who cares.

Did I upset you in some way that you wish to continue to keep bringing it up, as a form of personal attacks?

I have never professed that I am perfect in spelling or grammar.

I do know statistics, analytics and future trends, that is what I have focused on in my personal career, which I am now retired from.

Knew I recognized that name. He was 'through with you' last time he wanted you to be wrong.

Fun thread to re-read, everyone extending the life of a thread they really want nothing to do with just to attack the OP.
Thanks, guess my memory, along with my spelling and grammar is not as perfect as he wishes.

But it does explain, why, out of nowhere, he has decided to make myself a target.

Wow, even though your amazing stealthy abilities are quite impressive, I am still awaiting an answer with regard to the question I posited.
And I apologize, the next time I post something while on the LifeCycle, I will quit pedaling, so to focus better on what I am writing, just so to live up to your idea of perfectionism, when someone posts on a forum.

Not at all singling you out, nor am I upset in the least, but I do wonder why you make inaccurate, poorly worded, grammatically incorrect posts and responses. All the while claiming to be some sort of highly educated MVPD insider with an advanced education.

And, quite frankly, even though your posts and responses speak for themselves, and in spite of your purported "advanced education," I am also genuinely curious with regard to what educational institution would actually award you an MBA.

Not really, that was just a few clicks away from viewing this thread. Or do I need multiple sources for that too for you to believe that? Are you going to pop up in a random thread I am participating in several months from now to troll me now as well?
Oh, you're so clever! This had nothing to do with you, so maybe back off and crawl back into your hole.
