Huge loss to my FTA world

My neighbor cut part of my lawn yesterday, I thought he might, he's been dropping hints. You see, I keep my mower deck set higher than what you'd use for a putting green and my neighbor can't abide that. I have my nerve ! He's an older gent, so I shrug it off. He doesn't care about my dishes so he's OK. If he starts cutting the whole lawn I'll put up a picket fence and give him a can of whitewash and a brush and have him do that the right way, too.

What height do you set your mower at ?

A neighbor planted zoysia grass years ago which creeps about 5 feet per year.About 1/2 of my lawn is now that and the other half is my original grass. It gets green later that regular grass so my lawn looks 1/2 dead even now.The new neighbor that moved in a few years ago wants to get rid of his but can't since mine will just creep back.Invasive lawn.

Same here 3.5 or there abouts I don't think it is real accurate but close.

0"

Sold the lawnmower 2 years ago when I moved.

Now have weedbarrier cloth w/walk-on bark, cobblestone paver patio and raised bed garden. Weekends are now reserved for picking from the garden and sitting under the sunbrella....

Usually about 3"...except when he has a sore neck, then it's a little higher.

Waiting Cut...

Awaiting first cut of season; a little unkempt now. Maybe will cut to 9 cm? Next door crazed ex-military neighbour lives to ride his lawn mower around his property at least every other day. In winter, he is up at 7 a.m. (sometimes earlier) exclusively to ride same machine to snow-blow driveway, even if snowfall has just started and there's no measureable snow on driveway yet. Same neighbour who threatened to sic city bylaw officer on me over my Ku-band 39" dish antenna too near property line. Undiagnosed mental illness is common in society now.

Now THAT'S a useful neighbor. Can he be trained to cut the whole yard for you? :D
That would be fine, but I'll want to buy a putter and some golf balls. He's elderly, I put up with him kindly. Hope I'm still mowing the grass if I ever reach his age.

When I mowed "lawn grass" at the city house, mower deck was the highest it'd go.

Now, when I mow the wild growth at the country home, I let the cutter edges drag on the ground. The house has a 10-15' mulched barrier around it, no grooming lawns!

Two things I will NEVER DO: fertilize or water grass!
BTW: anything come about concerning the subject of this thread?

My buddy is working hard at trying to conform his place to look like the rest of the neighborhood. I've been cherry picking his collection. It's hard to take it all in at once. He is stashing vehicles, he has way too many at his house. He has 5 or 6 20's era cars in the back yard as well. He has a 29 Ford 1 1/2 ton truck with a 25 year old tree growing through the frame. LOL

I have a neighbor that is another development behind me that is an absolute nut-job. All sorts of harassment because her neighborhood has rules about clearing vegetation that mine does not. Somehow she got it in her head that I had to follow her rules even though the HOA, the county and the State all told her she was wrong.

Anyway, when my 8 footer ( that i changed to a 10 footer ) got her riled up again, I solved the problem. I planted giant bamboo that blocked her view of my house, my dish and... oh by the way... her view of the lake she used to have but to keep her from having to look at my BUD. I was just being, um, "considerate" :p

Bill

I like the cut of your jib, sir.
