HR44 - Can I used Ethernet? DIRECTV Says No

No, it does NOT create issues with whole home. Connection directly to the ethernet works fine. This can be a problem with the HR24 but NOT with the Genies. The only thing you need to make sure is that there is only one connection to the ethernet from your DirecTV setup. That means the GenieGo should be connected to the coax network but not directly to the router as well, because that would create two paths.. See peds_48 post for info on this.
