from what i am reading this puppy can work on its own. it will be awesome as long as you have access to all the tuners!

Looks like D* updated the HD non-DVR receivers manual. Check out page 43 for whole-home DVR info (not much info in this manual though)

Just depends on your needs, and I think the HR34 is more of a 2012 thing. That type of change will probably have testing in specific markets first.

This receiver must be in testing right now if the manual is available. Someone out there must have this, but can't talk to us yet.
