Man, I wish my old R10's could do HD...
Unfortunately I suspect the tivo s/w on the directv box will have some of the same hardware related issues we have now. And it'll take 6-12 months to fully shake out its own s/w issues. Then we'll probably have to pay a good price to get it. And another 2 year commitment.

As a dyed in the wool Tivo lover a few months ago I would have drooled at the thought of a "super" D TiVo unit. Now, I consider myself "Post TiVo", I really don't care. I'm not going to spend money on it unless it has same killer options that the HR2xs don't or wont have. The CE offers me everything I want in a DVR and I'm quite happy with it, surprisingly so since I resisted for so many years.

Yeah, its filling out the feature list. Stability is still pretty iffy. This thing wobbles around like an avocado pit on toothpicks.
I think that directv only does 1080p/24. If your monitor supports that, you're good to go. Otherwise I dont think it'll work. I'm almost sure the HR2x HDMI output only supports 1080p/24.
