Might as well do this one too since I nuked MRV last week.

For the love of God, please, please, please give us MRV back ...

After much deliberating, I am doing the CE this week. That is what the CE's are for and I shouldn't pick and choose. MRV will be back in a few weeks.

Last weeks did at least seem to improve remote response. May have to wait till tomorrow tho to grab this one as my roomy is watching something recorded and snarled when I mentioned doing the DL hehe

NO MRV means NO CE in my house

My wife is nice enough to tolerate my CE testing, however, she fell in love with MRV, and if it went away with a new CE I would be in big trouble, missed it last week, and it turned out to be a good thing, logged in to check out what the update was and read no MRV.

However, I don't know if the MRV is ready to go national, mine is still flaky, it will work for 3 days, then it quits working and has to be rebooted, reminiscent of my days on the other sat provider, at least MRV is a good feature, but unless it is something else causing MRV to be flaky, it probably isn't something that would be worth going national just yet.

Just though I would share my 2 cents.

Received word that there was a late change to version 0342.

No updates to the notes, so figure the change was very minor.

I updated the original post.

No MRV again? oh well, i'll try it anyway. Hopefully it's back soon!

CE testing is NOT to get the newest feature, that is a benefit of it, but definately NOT the reason for it.

D* would rather you NOT participate , I would think, if your going to only come in for the features and not post info as to how everything is working.

I can see this going away if it turns out that way.

I'm not saying to NOT participate, it's just they would like more input for all items introduced.

As for the MRV, it has been a work in progress and continues to be, D* has added alot of features in the last 6 months, time to redefine them, polish them up before doing the NR, although several things have already gone National.

Jimbo

No internet connection
R22-100
0x342

No audio Signal Meters Test.

I can see the record light come on when updating guide.

3 second channel change time when accessing channels in Mix Channels.

Minor hesitation while scrolling through guide in IR.

Gray screen when changing channels.R22s cannot access Bar Color to change from gray to black.

Takes 2 seconds to change channels.

Caller ID still displaying Unavailable for Name and Number.

NDS channels not "grayed out" in All Channels which makes NDS channels listed in Channels I Get and What's Hot.I am not supposed to receive NDS channels.

continuing search for issues.......

Hmm, I havent read anything in the CE materials distributed by directv saying that you have to download each and every release, nor anything saying that if you dont download every snippet of code every week that your participation is unwanted.

What exactly is wrong with someone who chooses to stay at a certain CE level, providing they arent complaining about old problems, calling directv customer service or discussing CE information outside of the appropriate forums?

Granted I agree that downloading the CE just to get the feature and never testing or reporting bugs isnt beneficial.

I guess I could post continuously that MRV "Just Worked" for me, but then that's kind of boring.

2 HR21's, 4 R22's, 1 H21 on a dedicated Ethernet switch, with about every combination of server to client. Oh and we do media share also.

So we test a feature they want pounded on and really don't have any issues, but we're ungrateful because it Just Works for us and lament having it go away?

Guess I'll have to post more "I see no problems", but most developers only want to hear whats broken not that all is good.

Thats a choice you can make for yourself as to updating or not. The only thing is, if I understand things correctly, if you don't keep current with the CE's then if that particular week they put out a NR your system will update to it. If you are using the current CE it won't.

Still like I said tho, its your choice. There have been one or 2 CE's I've skipped myself, usually because I was just too tired to stay up to do the DL. would love it if they would add an auto CE updating feature :D
