ok just installed another 500, that is pretty fast for response, ill have to check the 100's again, i know something still bothered me about them, mostly the dvr stuff i guess.

anyhow ya Vip has OTA, so 3 shows record at once

Still bothers me on the ten minute start up time on ALL direct recievers even the 500

You could outfit it with an eSATA interface converter and reformat it for DIRECTV.

once i kill dish service would i be able to access those recordings?

Then again, the only reason you would want to reboot an HR24 is to change network interfaces or swap out external drives.

Directv is compatible with eSATA EHDs, not USB. Recordings made with Dish will not play on Directv equipment.

The guy commented on reboot time, and with MRV, sometimes a reboot is required to get it working properly again (aren't you a Dish sub?)

Let's put it this way, I can reset the HR22 in the Bedroom, walk into the Living Room, go thru the HR24 menu, then reset it. When the HR24 is back showing live TV, the HR22 is still about halfway on its progress bar.
