hr21 and old dish

This may be a completely idiotic question, but will my DirecTV HR21 work with an old Star Choice LM-2738-SC dish? I just moved, and that's the only dish I have at the moment. The HR21
is completely legal - I'm paying for service that I can't use until the new slimline shows up. If this old dish will work, what's the secret? I've tried just about ever option in the setup dialog, and I'm
dead certain the dish is aligned at least in the ball park, but I get zero on all transponders on all birds. Doesn't seem to matter whether I have the BBC installed or not. Any help would be appreciated.

A quick Google search showed me that that dish's LNB uses linear polarity. DirecTV uses circular.

BTW. aligning to the ballpark isn't good enough.
