Downloading the CE for the HR20-700 tonight and it is software version 03EE ....

Does that sound right, I thought the HR24 and the rest were on the same software ?

HR20-HR23 are one week ahead of HR24. HR24 is receiving 3EB which was avalable for the others last week.

Alert: 3EE is unable to delete recordings. The DVR will appear to delete the program even removing from the playlist. However the FREE space won't increase and if you reboot your DVR the deleted recording(s) are back.

That would explain my problem. My R22 doesn't seem to have a problem with it... it will fake delete and just move on. My HR23 on the other hand is basically useless as a DVR. I can watch tv, but no recorded programs.

This update pretty much made my HR22 useless. Can't play, record or delete. Switching back to the NR of 0x3DE

I upgraded my HR20-100 last night and have the same issue. Deleted a handful of programs and the space free remained the same. I'll ride it out for a few days and make sure I don't run myself out of disk space, otherwise I may attempt the dreaded return to NR and risk losing any recordings I have.

It probably won't record or playback either. You're going to have to go back to the NR.

Not sure whats going on here.

I have the update on my HR20-700 and just deleted a program with no problem, that said, I only have a few programs on this DVR so I may not be able to tell if my space changed.

I turned the unit of and back on and the Deleted show is NOT in my playlist. Rebooting now to try to duplicate your situation.

Edit:
After reboot, Deleted program is back in the list, very odd.

And THIS is the software I want to try and put on my new HR24 next week ?

Hopefully they will tweak this better during the week.

Hopefully the bug will be fixed before release to the HR24.

Playback of programs recorded prior seems to be fine. Going to watch a couple shows I want to see then I'll put my life on the line and do the NR. I can't remember if the warning is that you lose ALL recordings or just recordings made with the newer firmware.

I finally got tired of my HR23 being totally useless, so I downloaded 03DE tonight. I went from 2% free disk space to 79% free disk space. So if you have any questions on what that cryptic verbiage means on the CE release, now you know. You will loose everything since you first saw that message. I don't know what Direct is working on, but this was a total FAIL!!!
