hr20 reciever set up problems.

I have directv in my home. There's one hr24, and three h20 recievers, with a Slimline swm3 dish. Everythings works fine at my home. My problem is when I take one of the h20 recievers from home, and connect it to a slimline swm3 dish at my rv, using the power supply that came with the dish, the receiver will not go to set up mode. The screen shows searching for sat signal. I press the menu button and nothing happens. Tried two different receivers and no change. Thanks in advance for any help.

did you try the exit button? That should stop the searching process and allow you to access the menu

Thanks for responding, after talking to directtv twice, they told me to press exit 3 times in a row. That didn't work. They then told me to press and hold info button about 6 seconds, and that didn't work. Then I was told to let reciever time out, and it never did. They told me I needed a multi-switch, but I understood the swm 3 dish has a built in switch, which is why it only has one outlet cable

Are you sure the dish in your rv is a swm? Is the power supply really a power inserter? They are used with the swm setups. If it isn't a swm, then you need a bbc. If it is, have you tried using the power inserter from your home? Maybe the one in your rv is kaput!

just purchased the dish and the power inserter from an online retailer, and it looks just like whats at my home. I'm sure its a swm. I just changed over from dishnetwork, and never had this problem before. I don't understand why pushing the menu button doesn't bring up the set up screen, regardless of whether or not the dish was even hooked up
