Couple of questions:

1) Is the AM21 with a HR21 a better OTA signal strength than the internal of the HR20?

2) If so, is the AM21 compatible with the HR20?

Thanks.

#1 - Some people have reported it's better then their HR20 ATSC tuners. There are two different manufactures of the HR20 which could be the reason some say yes and some say no.

#2 - No, at this time only the HR21 and HR22 can use the AM21.

Comparing mine, the AM21 is slightly better than the HR20. The H20-600 probably has the best tuner of all the Directv receivers (but it sure runs hot).

(It is a HR20-700).

AFAIK, the tuner in the H20-600 is the only one using the LG 5th generation chipset. It's the best one out there, except for the 6th generation LG chipset, which none of the Directv boxes has.

I can somewhat verify #1 - my HR20-100 is much more solid from the same exact OTA signal (I have it diplexed through my SWM signal).

My -100 picks up a close channel that breaks up on the -700.
