HR20-700 Remote Question

Thanks for the help on the MLB EI/Sports Pack question..now I'll throw one more at the group.

I have the HR20-700 Receiver and am consantly frustrated with the remote...Instead of being able to hold down the volume button to move up and down, I have to actually push it each time I want to move up or down one level.

I talked to a CSR who said that this is just how it is, and there's no way to change it so you can just hold down the volume button.

Is this true, and if so any universal remotes you recomend to replace this one?

For what device are you controlling the volume? TV? AV receiver? How does the actual device remote control the volume? If it is continuous, then a universal remote should operate the same. Is there another remote code that the DVR remote could use?
