Does anyone know if I can buy the reader. My card was all scratched and I took it apart and the reader has a broken connection, it's my box, best buy wont trade it out and direct tv wont fix it either, can anyone steer me in the right direction.. It says pace technologies. I can take a picture of it if anyone can help.

You should stay out of the guts of the receiver. If it hadn't been opened you could have replaced it with the protection plan. Now the best you can hope for is to find an HR20 being sold for parts.
Since, this is most likely a leased unit, why not have DirecTV replace it? They might not notice that the box has been opened.!
yep, I think even if OWNED opening the box constitutes a violation of the TOS of a legit subscriber
Bite the bullet and buy/lease a new one. If you have been a customer for a while, they will give you a good deal.
IF your card is scratched, why not just call D* and have them send you a new one ?
Why would you open the box if the card was scratched anyways ?

I think the OP was saying that the broken connector in the card reader is what scratched the card.
