HR20-100 and 18" round dish

can I hook up HR20-100 receiver to the 1st generation 18" round dish?. I am in a motorhome currently hooked up to slimline dish on a tripod with zinwell multi switch and B blockers. Am going to be heading south in a couple of weeks and would like to hook up to round dish on roof when We stop for a short time. Do I still need to run thru multi switch but take B blockers off?

i would say no... i have seen motorhomes that have rotating (dome) satellite and those would work as they auto lock on to a satellite.

are you getting HD serivce? if so, an 18 wont work. you need 101, 110, 119 and your HDs would be on 99 and 103.

the multi-switch, you probably dont need anymore if you arent in a 2 dish market.

you could point it at the 101 (b-bands won't matter either way) you'll only get core programming - no locals or HD - If you don't want to see "serching for satellite" on the channels not on the 101 be sure you change the "sat set up" - Good Luck

You can get locals if your locals are still broadcasting off the 72.5 which only requires a 18 inch dish.


also point out that a 18 inch dish wont work just locking on to 103 or 99. 18s will work on 72.5, 101, 110, and 119 for directv.

I figured I could only get the 101 with the round dish. Just would like to get something when We pull off the road for a rest. I may try it before We pull Out of Our site. If it doesn't work I will move the HR10-250 from the bedroom up to the front tv. I have used that one before with the round dish and it works fine. When We get to FL. will set up slimline dish on tripod.
