There is more than one manufacturer. The number designates who made it.

HR20's are only -700 and -100
Pace is the -700
RCA / Thompson is the -100

The 600 is the H20 (non recorder) and don't remember for sure who that is, something make me think it was LG.

There is a new HR21 also out there now and I have not heard who is making them for D* yet.

The -100 and -700 are based on the same design. I believe the -100 has a slightly larger hard drive.

Can they both do DOD (on demand over IP) or is the 100 still in Beta?

The -100 just got its update for DoD, but mine can't connect to the internet, yet.
