I have an HR22-100 HD receiver, and I am wondering what kind of dish I can use with it, I noteiced there is a new band called KA band, do you I need a slimline dish with three LNBs to catch this?
can I just catch 101/110/119 with regular LNBs? or do I have to catch KA band as well?

I have all type and kind of dishes availabe, from dish 500s to 300 to reg 18" dishes.
can I use a reg 24" oval dish with legacy type LNBs to catch 101/110/119 and then connect them together with diseqc switches?

You need a Slimline dish. If your local sd channels are on 119, then you need the 5 lnb to get them. If you don't care about the sd locals, or if they are on 101, a 3 lnb will work. Check this website: www.solidsignal.com. You can buy the dish and lnb as a package.

Because DirecTV LNBs have multiswitches built-in, you can't use switches to connect several dishes together.
Your best solution is to get the Slimline with either the SL3 (99,101,103) or SL5 LNB (99, 101, 103, 110, 119) depending on your needs.

You need 99 and 103 to receive HD (the Ka band).
