How is the speed today of the site?

In our upgrades to avoid DOS attacks we have also been tweeking the APACHE, PHP and MYSQL files. These tweeks should mean a much faster robust server for you our members.

Your feedback is appreciated, we may have to tweek things a little more based on your feedback and based on server tests.

Thanks everyone!

No problems from home on a 6Mbps/600Kbps line or at work on two DS3's.

Does it seem faster then a few days ago?

Last night I did some tests, SatelliteGuys was popping up fully in about 2 seconds DBSTalk was pospping up in about 8 seconds DBSForums was popping up in about 3 seconds AVSforum was popping up in about 5 seconds.

I've had some problems the last few days trying to access the main page... maybe once or twice. Once refreshed, it was fine though.. probably the DOS attacks.

By the way, when I first read that, i was thinking "How can someone attack a website with Dos?" LOL, before I realized it was Denial of Service.

I just installed Mozilla FireFox as my browser and it screams with this site now.

Internet Exploder used to take 10 seconds or better to load the front page. I just loaded it and never got to 1000-2 when counting aloud.

Sweeeeeeeeet!

Scott, while the speed seems good, I am seeing some times were I can't get to the site, page can't be displayed. This is from two different connections and three different computers. Could any of the tweeking that you're doing be causing a problem?
