How's the 622 SD Picuture Quality?

I had a 508 and 721. The 622 by far is a better receiver and has great picture quality even running in SD mode.

My Mits. 55" HD is 5 years old and SD is near DVD quality. I have it set at 480i doubled to 960i and set to strecth SD on compontent cables from the 622. HD is outstanding as well. I have watched SD improve over the last 2-3 years on the same 55" Mits. TV2 output in bedroom Toshiba 20" appears close to DVD quality played thru vidio in. Over all I am very pleased with Dish HD and SD quality.

I just got my 622 installed yesterday and I'm impressed with the SD quality. HOWEVER, it does depend upon whether you watch it in the normal screen format or the stretch screen format. In the normal...you will see black bars on both sides of the picture, but it looks better. I personally don't mind the slight picture problems with the stretch format...it bothers me to have a normal SD screen size on a 37" widescreen. When you switch to HD programming, though, be sure to go back to the normal format...otherwise you will lose some of the picture.
