Howard Stern Quit SiriusXM? Not for a 'Loser' Podcast https://beta.finance.yahoo.com/news/howard-stern-quit-siriusxm-not-090003461.html?ltr=1
Someday, inevitably, given the nature of entertainment, gravity and AGE, Howard Stern's magical satellite radio ride will end. It could even happen this week. We'll know soon.On the morning of Wednesday, Dec. 16, Stern will HOST his final show under a five-year contract with SiriusXM. What he will do next remains a mystery. He could walk away from the medium, as he once did from broadcast, to try his hand at, say, Internet radio. Or he could retire. Or he could sign a new contract with SiriusXM. During his show last week, Stern told listeners he hasn't made up his mind. If past is precedent, he will probably reveal his next move on the air in the coming days. There's a lot of money riding on the decision.Stern, who will turn 62 in January, remains one of the top rainmakers in American radio, and SiriusXM—which is flush, thanks to its large, growing subscriber base—would like to keep him. But these are tumultuous times for the industry, and any number of companies jockeying for market share in the emerging world of Internet radio could benefit immensely from luring Stern and his rabid fan base away from SiriusXM.

I think if money is right he stays other wise he is goes unless he is just tired of this and he has all the money he needs.Who would be a good replacement for him?

His wife encouraged him to quit America's Got Talent. He said he needed more free time and was evaluating his career. Said he was too busy.

How is Sirius/Xm going to survive without him? Just about as well as the New York Yankee's will survive without A-Rod. Or baseball without Pete Rose? Or maybe loosing the San Diego Chargers,to Los Angeles. Maybe we could be lucky and they all will leave.

I might be a bigger fan of Opie w/Jim and Anthony's show, but the old Sirius Satellite Radio, now SiriusXM, was built on Howard. Obviously, they would love to stop him from aging and continue forever. Personally, it won't be the same without him.

Won't effect me at all, I don't listen to him now. Many years ago when on FM he tried to enter the Minnesota Market to take on Tom Barnard and the KQRS Morning show. He took shots at KQ saying he would over take them and it never happened.

Now I have a coworker that does listen to him regularly, but wouldn't dump SiriusXM if he left.
