This is all B.S…when Simon leave next season..and bring the X FACTOR in America .then most likely Simon bring the Abdul to the show together going To SWALLOW THE American idol like a peace candy and then will cancle after while .. X FACTOR going to new American idol like a heart beat in Next couple years I ‘ll soo positive and will bet on that!
That’s why FOX doing REAL smart thing and bring it Simon show in FOX instead going some where else . For backup and they already know whats gonna happen in next few years!

I've never watched a full episode of Idol. I just don't get the attraction of the glorified karaoke show. If Stern was on though, it would definitely reinvent the show for the good and I'd tune in.

No qualifications what so ever. Ellen has no musical qualifications either. Unless you count dancing and squatting over a coffee table as talent. They seem to be moving away from musical judges and just taking big name celebrities that people know.

If Stern is a judge, I am no longer a viewer. I am not sure how well I will stomach DeGeneres. I wish they would have selected a person who is actually in the music business.

He started his career as a Disc Jockey. Selecting music to be played on the radio was a part of his job description. But just like the rest of us, he has two ears and can articulate perfectly fine whether he likes or dislikes something he hears.

BTW, what kind of insider credentials does Ellen have in the music world?

Howard would be great for American Idol. I don't think it matters at all that he's not in the music biz. He has ears, and AI hasn't been a singing competition since Season 1.
