... access international channels via Directv? I am looking at accessing Japanese, Chinese, and Thai television channels but I'm not sure how to go about it. If it is not possible through Directv, is there any other way of accessing them?

You can look on D* website to see if they offer what you want in their international pkg. If they don't you can invest in a C/Ku band DVB/FTA system that corresponds to the channels you want to get.

For Directv you will need the Phase-III triple LNB dish to access international programming.

Actually, the phase III dish is good for Chinese and Spanish programming, but to get the new Vietnamese, Hini or Tami you need the new 95/101 degree antenna dish system.

I just updated my site to include some of the new International packages.

No Japanese on Directv there is on DISH Network, I don't think either offers Thai.
