I signed up with Dish Network about 3 weeks ago after having been with Time Warner the last 8 years, so as far as NHL CI goes, I've only known Time Warner. With TW, there were no games in HD as part of the NHL CI package, while I've heard this is not the case with Dish. The only NHL games we got in HD were the ones on HDNet, NBC, and at the end of the playoffs, VSHD. Some of you have seen that I wanted to see Penguins games in HD. It's not because I'm looking to get out of buying, NHL CI, not at all. I'm actually a first and foremost Flyers fan, so I will be getting NHL CI anyway. But my disappointemt with NHL CI as a Time Warner subscriber has been ZERO HD games. If I could have access to all games in HD by buying NHL CI I would not even consider a "move." So, with Dish Network, how does it work. Please give some detail....thanks!

LAst year E* had a NHLHD channel that they used, but keep in mind that not ALL of the CI games are in HD, so I only saw roughly 2-3 games a week in HD. and one was on HDNET the other on NBC. There was a pissing match between Charlie and Comcast ( Versus owners) with their HD channel, but NOW we are getting a LOT of NHL games in HD due to the recent RSN's in HD added along with Aug. 15th the VSHD/GolfHD channel being added.
I would bet that we will see a LOT more NHL HD games THIS year, as compaired to Last years programming.

Dish is also carrying a lot more RSNs in HD. So that might also allow more HD games.

So then would they have separate channels somewhere that allow you to access the HD feeds from those RSN's? Would it be like subscribing to the sports pack only not having the games blacked out? I guess I'm wondering whether Dish will allow us a way to access the HD feeds of the games as long as they exist.

I think every Bruins game (home and away) is in HD on NESN. If E* offered NESN HD that would be a lot of HD games they could offer in the CI package.

EKB: Dish Network Channels at 129°
If you look at the list of Channels, there are 4 NHLHD channels (Not Available yet) on the system, in my opinion, they will offer those up with the RSN HD feed on them.

Hmmm, interesting. I looked at the 61.5 and see there is an additional there too making for 5 NHLHD channels total. On a lot of nights that would end up being fine if they allow the HD feeds to be on them.

I feel your pain. No MSGHD, FSNNYHD, CSNMAHD, and no CSN Philly HD make for a sad Flyers Fan as A LOT of Flyers games will be on these channels. Flyers vs. Rangers, Islanders, Devils, and Capitals could all be very problematic in getting a HD feed....except for the caps, ALL divisional rivals.
