How to prevent channel changing from hopper in living room to what someone is watching in another ro

Thanks in advance! I need some help. I had the hopper and a joey installed 2 months ago. Lately have experienced when someone is watching tv in the living room and someone is watchng tv in the other room (two different channels) and the person in the living room changes channels it ends up changing the channel to the tv that is hooked up to the Joey.

How can you stop this from happening because it is becoming a pain..and shows are getting interupted. I have searced all over the net for an answer and haven't found one yet. And of course the manual doesn't talk about this or pretty much nothing.

I was told by the company that set it up that it won't do this but apperantly it does.

It sounds like you have the Joey remote paired to the Hopper. Is the Joey remote actually working with the Joey?

First take the Joey remote to the Hopper and see if the Joey remote can control all of the functions on the Hopper.

I tried and it doesn't work on the hopper. However came back into my spare room and the screen after you hit "info" was on showing all the boxes. I did turn tv off and back on and hit the guide button and this screen pops up showing what is being recorded in the living room and I hit guide again and this box pops up and says do you want to switch channels if so channel will be changed in living room. So its doing it on the hopper & the joey.

Also noticed on I guess Prime Time channels (abc, cbs..etc..there is yellow squares on the guide and it says its recording like every show on each channel..what is that..we don't watch those channels so I guess something got clicked..how do you get rid of that? I love the hopper but all this is so confusing. Thx

Go to menu, dvr defaults, ptat, disable

There is no disable button under the ptat. I have these 2 buttons: Dvr Time Defaults & PTAT. I clicked on ptat and it says: this feature is unavailable during the ptat session. The other timer one doesn't have a disable button. Thx Sorry for all questions I just want it to go back to the way it was working 4 days ago.

Yeah I forgot, you need to wait till after ptat is done at 10 or 11. It may not be a disable button but may be an Off button instead.

You can turn it off before or after ptat hours. Just turn it off when you get up in the morning. It needs to be disabled at least 15 minutes prior to the ptat timer firing.
