How many sat.s can you have??

I'm not a qualified mad scientist but I'm pretty sure the answer is no.

You can only have a max of 5 sats using dish pro equipment because that's all dish current switching equipment allows.

Now if you had an all legacy system and by just a regular multiswitch that can take 7 satellites i think it may work. But then again the receiver might not be able to hold that many in a switch config...

The only limiting factor is the software on the receivers, which are currently limited to 5 satellites. I only know about DishPro setups, not sure about legacy.

<disclaimer>In theory</disclaimer>, you could cascade two DPP44 switches with a DP21 (eight satellite locations) or three DPP44s with a DP34 (twelve satellite locations). In reality, the software has not been, and probably will not be, designed to support such configurations, unless Dish decides to spread programming over their fleet such that more than five locations are necessary for a large number of customers (not likely).

Right now, the most you would need would be 5. Any more then that would be redudnant.
61.5 - Voom, some locals, most international, SkyAngel
105 - locals
110/119 - main programming packages
121 - locals, all International packages
129 - some locals, Voom
148 - some locals, some international

so if you wanted SkyAngel, locals on 105, AT180, international channels on 121, and Voom, you would need a superdish at 105, another superdish at 121, and a dish at 61.5, that would still only be 5 slots.

You only need 5 slots if your locals are on 105. If your locals are on 121 then you would only need another dish pointed at 61.5 (or 129 if you dont want SkyAngel) to get everything Dish offers.

You're close - but if you need CBS-HD West (currently only on 148) on top of your well-considered configurations, you're up to 6.

Note that E* account build STILL says that any account needing FOUR locations requires special handling, extra receivers, etc., etc. Of course, that's NOT true, but you know E* is - the web site guys apparently have never heard of a DPP44, or maybe even seen a E* receiver (with 5 slot slotware).

Favorites channels won't save, crap 811??

No more need for OTA with Dish The 1000
