Which format do you prefer?
Personally and professionally I prefer HD DVD for a few reasons.
First, because it's very easy for the thousands of DVD replicators to produce HD DVDs on the same equipment, BD replication requires a expensive total re-tooling, which will force many excellent replicators out of business. And even more importantly, small niche HD productions can will not be made in BD as the BD disc replication is more expensive to master and replicate.
Second, BD50 dual layer discs are very difficult to replicate and as of today on two replicators in the world can product DL BD50 discs.
Third, The SD up-conversion is better on the flagship HD-XA2.
Forth, HD DVD hardware is also far less expensive to manufacturer and therefore has a much lower cost to the consumer.
Fifth, HD DVD is mandated to have TruHD audio codec and a network connection on their players, BD does not offer advanced audio decoding or a network connection.
As a retailer we are neutral and sell lots of BD and HD DVD players.
