How does the Hopper with Sling work?

Thinking of upgrading to Hopper with Sling and what to know how it works. Does it (the Hopper) need to be connected to the internet (hard wired or wil wifi work)? Etc. Thanks

Wifi works, but can be weak. Depends on distance to router. Hardline is the best or even a hic hookup would work too.

How the sling technology works is that with an active internet connection to the hopper you can remotely access your receiver / dvr from anywhere with the DISH Anywhere application.

Wifi works but on the hierarchy of connection options it falls fourth after direct ethernet, hopper Internet connector(hic), and the sling link turbo.
