I want to replace my 522 and 322 with a 722 and 222 to add to my 622 but I can only get HD locals OTA. I have an antenna to my 622 but need to know if I can run the antenna into one of my switches and then to all. I have a dp 34 and a JVI 35-dn34 swithch in series to give me 8 outs, the JVI has in addition to the 3 sats in and 3 sats out to the next switch, also has an antenna in and out. does anyone know if that jvi switch wil be able to take my antenna signal and distribute it to all 3 receivers. I think I will get the ant to at least 2 of them and then be able to take the ant out from the the jvi switch to the 3rd but I'm not sure . does anybody have any exp with this type setup for OTA and knows if it will work? thanks for any help

No, you can't run the antenna into a switch, at least not with any switch that I've ever seen. Use a standard 3-way splitter on the antenna, and then diplex into the outputs from the switch.

here is a link to that switch http://sadoun.com/Sat/Products/JVI/35-DN34.htm it says it is for this type application I just wanted to know if any of you installers have used this in a setup with success
As Andrewwski notes, modern DBS switches don't handle OTA signals.

You can use a pair of diplexers for each receiver to feed your OTA signal down one of the two wires. You can also run a third wire. Perhaps the best option is to replace the two DP34 switches with one DPP44 and use one cable for satellite and the other for OTA .

Looking at the link you provided it appears that the switch can send the OTA to each port so all you should need to do is connect the antenna to the switch and use a diplexor at each receiver to get the OTA signal. (This is the way dish should have made the switches)

I missed that claim. The numerous claims of DP34 equivalency had me snowed.

I wonder what input the OTA goes on.

if I use a diplexor at each receiver will that allow me to use 3 tuners at the 622 and 722? thanks

You can use a diplexer to split out the signal once you figure out how to get it into the switch. As I said earlier, you only need to put the diplexer on one of the two lines.

right now I have 2 cables each for each room I have a 34 and the jvi switch canI just use the jvi with a diplexer at each receiver so I would just be useing 1 cable per receiver for sat signal and put a splitter on the ant out from the jvi so that I could use the second cable to feed the OTA input at the 622 abnd 722. does that sound like an option?

here is a different question on the same vein , right now I get my local hd's ota but I can only record one at a time ,if I use a diplxer off that jvi switch will that allow me to record my local hd's on any tuner?

I would not recommend this switch. Had one with my 721, 508 and 941. The claimed OTA option was nice but it did not function well. I was better off just connecting directly to a OTA vice going through the switch. Maybe my configuration was flawed.

In the end I returned it due to check switch errors. I ended up with a dish dp34 switch.

well I got this one on my original install 3 or 4 years ago but never tried to use it in that way, I did try to hook it up today with the antenna feed and it did not do what I wanted it to do so I'm going the old fashion way and split my ant signal and then amplify it too both receivers. that will probaly be the only way to use all 3 tuners in each one.
