How do u chnage lnb type on new hd dvr dtv receiver?

I have a brand new HD DVR DTV Reciever and took out to garage to hook up to old dtv lnb type dish but it says does not recognize. How do you chnage lnb type

Which dvr and what model lnb and dish type?

System Setup
Satellite
Repeat Satellite Setup

Select the proper dish from there

However, if he is just moving it to a standard dish but you are getting a "searching for satellite signal" then it would be easier to just un hide SD duplicates.

If the receiver has been connected to SWM then when you are in sat setup make sure you select "multiswitch" first, then the other dish types will become ungreyed and you can select them.

My question is why put a new receiver in the garage?
It's a bit of a waste to use an HD receiver for SD only!

We still need to know what dish he's trying to use.
