There is a discount of .98 cents on the second , third dvrs on your account when you use WITH dvr packs. So $12.00 vs the other way of adding it ; The more dvrs you add " the MORE YOU SAVE!" as they say on their webpage. The $3.00 credit is why I think the price went up to $8.00 on the dvr advantage pack. They wanted to be able to show you a $3.00 credit so it looks like you are saving money , so they went up on the price of that pack by $8.00 a month. That way when they show you the credit it looks like you got something of value. I never thought that this $8.00 price hike was justified on the dvr advantage pack . No other programming pack went up this much in February. This was a creative way of showing you a credit without DISH really losing any money. Kind of like the way they now show your phone line credit. If you keep it plugged into a phone /ethernet it now says "You SAVED $5.00 " on your bill vs the old way $5.00 charge for not keeping your phone connected. Its a way of spinning the fees and making them a positive rather than a negative like most FEES are.
