I was going to ask why does the premier satellite forum not have a look angle calculator. However, I did finally find a link to the one on Sadoun's website.

How's about making that somewhat more prominent or easier to find? Reference it in the stickies or something. Make a tab or link on the home page.

Something like that is so commonly needed, it should be readily findable, especially by noobs.

Thanks

Satellite Calculators

And if you'd asked, we'd have sent you to not only TheList, but the Sadoun calc, and the one SatAV has (my favorite, with PDF output).
Other members have posted quite a few that they like, too.
So, finding one shouldn't be much of a challenge.
Here's a stand-alone JAVA calc I use on my desktop.

Thanks for the link 'nole, now if I can just remember how to make that work in SlamD64......ln-s something .....lol...must study java again

EDIT:
WORKS GREAT!! Nice little program.

happy Linuxing

Frankly, the Java calc program isn't nearly as popular as it was a few years back.
Now, every Tom, Dick, 'n web site has their own. ;)
Some even use satellite-based maps (hate 'em myself, but folks love 'em!) -

The SatFinder program suffers from poor support.
Meaning, the guy doesn't update his beautiful program very often.
Not even satellite names. And many have changed in the last few years.

But, what's nice, is that you can fully edit his bird list, and customize it.
For years, I used a personal list that had many of the popular satellites split out and highlighted.
Recently, I visited the author's web site and noticed he's redone the list, and updated his cities.
Now, I'm running the stock version again.
Don't really like seeing all the Euro birds at all, much less at the top of the listing, but I'm not sure it's hardly worth futzing with again.
But, YOU CAN, if ya like!
It's just a simple text file.

Glad you guys are happy with a Linux-friendly application.
There's a ton of great info on the SatGuy's forum. - :up - I found SatFinder here, myself.
