I have lost the Houston HD channels, 6389 - 6393 (KTRK, KHOU, KPRC, KRIV, & KIAH) and am receiving the "Sorry for the interruption. There is no need to call us.", etc. screen.

I have talked twice to technical support, with both techs saying that these channels are down temporarily. Is anyone else seeing this or do I have a problem on my end?

These channels are being broadcast on both 61.5 TP 13 (0 signal strength) and 110, TP 04 (signal strength 46). Other transponders are coming in fine on 61.5, including others on the same spot beam.

Any suggestions?

No Need to Call?

As I suspected, both techs were willing to give me mis-information to get me off the phone. There is no problem with the Houston stations, but with my 61.5 dish.

As I watched 61.5 TP13, I saw it lock and unlock as the wind blew. So it is a pointing issue.

Thanks, to MikeD for the confirming info.

Maybe this is related. My friend just had Dish installed in Mission Texas after the new 129 was on line. He expected a Dish 1000 to be installed but he got two Dish 500s, one a single aimed at 61.5. The installer said that Dish did not consider the view of 129 good enough for Mission.

Then on the 24th, Dish announced that HG locals were now on line for Mission/McAllen. When my Friend couldn't find then he called Dish. The CSR said, "Oh, you need to be on 129." The CSR then scheduled a repoint for the 25th.

Then, while my friend was on the phone, the local channel he had been watching went away. The CSR had turned off the 61.5 to my friend and said that he would get his locals back when the repoint was done.

So either the installer or Dish was wrong in the first place about viewing 129 from Mission. And I can't fathom the logic of turning off the 61.5 feed before the 129 feed was usable.
