I lucked out and only brushed against it lightly. Felt like stinging nettle, but took longer to go away.

Not to drive this into the ground, but if you really want to see some big hornets, go over to CNBC website and read that story about the Asian hornets! Or Google "Hornets kill dozens in China" and you'll find it. Largest hornet in the world, it says.

BTW, there are two "medicine" bottles on the farm tractors around here - Vicks Vapor-Rub for stings, bites, scrapes (and dust problems) and Bag Balm for weather-proofing electrical connections (as well as cattle problems).

If you do not carry those two - you are not a serious farmer - or you are a newcomer - the latter is worse!
