I've noticed on some of the other threads that there is a horizontal and a vertical voltage

Is that something that can be measured with a voltmeter, or do I have to use an oscilloscope?

I ask only because I haven't received the other LNB that I've ordered (see "satellite newbie" posted last week), and I'm trying to figure out if there's anything else I can do to find out which component (the LNB or the receiver) is bad.

Thanks.

You can use a volt meter on the "satellite in" connection on the back of the receiver.

14VDC for Vertical pol.
18VDC for Horizontal Pol.

PSB

Thanks for quick reply.

I've got 13.48 and 18.27 VDC, guess I just have to wait until the other LNB arrives before I can go any further. :(
