Hopper3, record only new episodes

Moving in to the Hopper3, I have set up a number of timers. I didn't see an option to record only new episodes, and I figured I would go back later and change that.

It is now "later" and I set out to do so, and can't find an option to record only new episodes. I don't want to clutter my recordings with all of the repeats that some programs re-run, sometimes on more than one channel, so I went to Dish chat, where I was told that previous recorders have had the option to record only new episodes, but the Hopper3 does not.

I find this unbelievable. What say you?

Press DVR then Skip forward twice to Edit timer. Select the timer then Edit timer. Select record. You will see a choice for New Only.

Wow. I would never have figured that out. Will go try it.

Or when you set the timer and the popup appears showing as recording New and Reruns or New Only, hit select while that pop up is still there and you'll get that same menu
