OK, I got the deal. The first person I spoke to when I called said if I wanted the Hopper 3 rather than the Hopper with Sling said if I wanted the Hopper 3 I would need to pay $150 up front. He also said, on a different matter, that he could not renew the $5 per month autopay credit which had expired. When I expressed disappointment that I was zero for two on this call he then transferred me to an account specialist in Arizona. He offered me a free upgrade to a Hopper 3, also throwing in the OTA adaptor, and a two year price freeze, with my total bill going up only three dollars per month. Of course I accepted the offer, the installation is scheduled for tomorrow.
