Hopper with Sling new install...a couple of questions.

Hello, I've been a Looong time reader but this is my first post...so here I go.

Yesterday I had A HWS and 2 Joey's installed and wondered about a couple of things. First, I thought the Hopper with Sling had built in Wi-fi but the installer used a USB wi-fi adapter...Is this how it is supposed to work or did he not need the USB adapter?

Also, When watching on demand items, i notice the video will skip ahead from time to time, even if i let the download get a few minutes ahead of where i am watching. Is this normal? The wife was not impressed with this

What specific vod vitles?

Does your hopper say hopper with sling or hopper? They shouldn't be using an external wifi adapter.

We were watching Game of Thrones and Spartacus. It is a Hopper with sling, i double checked that and have used the Ipad app to test it.

The Hopper with Sling's WiFi is internal.You should not need an external WiFi Adaptor.

It sounds like the installer didn't know about built in WiFi and gave you one. Try removing the adaptor and reset the broadband connection to see if it connects. Keep/sell the adaptor when it does.
