Just having increasing issues with a VIP612 and upgraded to a Hopper w/Sling.
A couple oddities arose:
> can I make the recording schedule only show "now" and the future?
It's showing Everything I've scheduled. Even a week ago.
> is there a way to rename OTA recordings?
I see no way to rename any recording.
Having only channel and date/time means I have to make my own list of what's where.
> the manual claims 1 USB device at a time. I have the OTA tuner as one.
Does that conflict with external storage?
If so, what are the consequences of disconnecting / reconnecting the tuner?
Thanks in advance, Kevin

1) There is no way to only show present and future recordings.
2) Unfortunately, you can not rename DVR recordings.
3) I believe there are 3 usb ports. I have OTA tuner in one and 2 external hard drives in the other 2 usb ports.
4) Some owners have used a usb hub.

Thanks for reply and confirming my suspicions. I had the 612 a Long time and having "fun" relearning.
Come winter, a long spelunking of storage behavior pends. (retired systems engineer)

Be aware that the total capacity of all attached and working EHD's must be slightly under 7TB. Since different manufacturers can and often do use different advertised capacities for hard drives you can only guess if adding a third that puts you near that 7TB limit will be seen by the receiver.
